Stanmore Bay Changing Block, sundial and historical cemetery

The block is an artwork in itself. Beautifully decorated with murals depicting a typical New Zealand seascape including  our colourful pohutukawa trees and a range of beautiful native birds.

If you wish to see a couple of added bonuses on the trail for a very short add-on walk: Head east along the path towards the playground. Along here  you will firstly find a sundial and, if you go to the far eastern point of the bay you will find the tiny historical Stanmore Bay Anglican cemetery with just 6 gravestones. Nestled under the trees in a very peaceful and tranquil spot. An enviable final resting place.
