This sculpture is inspired by observing Māori whānau gathering kina from our reefs. It reflects the close relationship between people, sea, and tradition, passed down through generations along our coast.
The intricate detail of the empty shell represented here with its intricate patterns has fascinated generations and been collected by many as a keepsake from the beach.
