This procedure outlines the "Digital Voucher" system designed for the Whangaparāoa Treasure Hunt. It ensures exclusivity for participants, allows for flexible "Claim Later" redemptions, and is designed for easy monthly maintenance within WordPress using Oxygen Builder.
System Overview: The "Screenshot Voucher" Strategy
The system uses a single, centralized Trail Rewards page. It relies on URL Parameters to show only the relevant specials for the specific checkpoint scanned. Security is maintained through a combination of a Dynamic "Found On" Date and a Monthly Validation Code.
How It Works (The Participant Journey)
Checkpoint Scan: The participant scans the QR code at one of the 8 physical checkpoints.
Checkpoint Menu: They are taken to a landing page with various links. They click the link: "Business Specials".
The Hidden Rewards Page: The button links them to the centralized rewards page with a unique tag (e.g., ?checkpoint=1). This automatically filters the page to show only the specials for that area.
Instructions & Voucher: The page displays a "Congratulations" message and instructions to take a screenshot of the voucher.
Claiming Later: Because the participant has a screenshot, they do not need to be on the website or have internet access when they visit the business.
Redemption: The participant shows the screenshot to the business staff. The staff verifies the "Found On" date is within the last 28 days and the Validation Code is current or from the previous month.
